Telstra has significantly invested to date in preparing for a Connected Vehicle (V2X) future through many technology trials with government road agency customers in Australia. Telstra is a member of the global 5GAA forum, ITS-Australia and the Australia New Zealand Driverless Vehicle Initiative (ADVI) and we are pleased to support the BusBot driverless shuttle trial project in Coffs Harbour with 4G mobile network connectivity.

QBE provides a broad range of insurance products to personal, business, corporate and institutional customers. From car, home and travel insurance, to tailored business packages and specialist cover for industries such as aviation and farming.

QBE acknowledges vehicle autonomy as playing a key role in the future of mobility and acknowledges the importance that insurance will play within this new technology.

QBE Australia has partnered with Busways, Transport for NSW, Coffs Harbour Council and EasyMile by providing CTP and comprehensive motor insurance for the shuttle during this automated vehicle trial.

Papercast

Papercast is a leader in solar powered e-paper bus stop passenger information display systems. We work with public transport agencies and bus operators around the world looking for an innovative, future-proof and easy to implement solution to deliver real-time and other service information to passengers at bus stops.

Our technology offers a distinctive combination of features, making our platform one of the most advanced solutions of its kind available on the market today. The unique attributes of e-paper make the Papercast displays ideal for outside use, with unbeatable screen visibility, even in direct sunlight. Couple this with wireless connectivity and the exceptionally low power consumption achieved by Papercast’s engineers, and the displays can be continuously solar powered – no power or connectivity cables are required.

Papercast’s sophisticated cloud-based management system offers simple integration with open data standards, as well as the ability to control all aspects of the display and its content remotely. The enhanced analytics solution, called Better ETA, normalises existing CAD/AVL data to improve the accuracy of bus arrival predictions and provide a dashboard of service performance and audit data.

Transport authorities can now provide live, accurate arrivals and other information to passengers at bus stops where previously it would not have been feasible.

Via

Via is the world’s most sophisticated developer of dynamic shared rides technology.

Working closely with cities and public transit operators, Via powers dynamic shared mobility services that complement existing transportation infrastructure globally, with projects in the US, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

Using the Via app, passengers select their pick up and drop off location and confirm their ride.

Via is the chosen on demand platform partner for later phases of the project.

Marian Grove

Marian Grove Independent Living Village, a part of the Sawtell Catholic Care of the Aged not for profit organisation, was established over 25 years ago. It is located approximately ten kilometers south of Coffs Harbour and four kilometers from the seaside town of sunny Sawtell.

Set within 27 acres of landscaped award winning gardens and surrounded by a bushland sanctuary, Marian Grove is a vibrant, happy community, with a great reputation and an enviable resident lifestyle.

Saltwater Freshwater and
National Aboriginal Design Agency

The National Aboriginal Design Agency (NADA) is a unique organisation established in 2012 – born out of the need to develop and champion a sustainable and authentic Aboriginal design industry in Australia.

In partnership with Busways, NADA worked with Aboriginal youth from Coffs Harbour High School to create artworks based on stories shared by local Gumbaynggirr Elders, Aunty Elaine Turnbull and Uncle Mark Flanders.

In a blind selection process, 6 artworks were selected from young artists Isaiha Kelly, Mikaela Johnston, Kiahla Spencer, Kristina Craig, Trey Jurd, to be developed into the eye-catching vehicle wrap BusBot is wearing on the Northern Breakwall. The artwork tells the stories of Gumbaynggirr culture with particular focus on Mutton-bird Island (Giidany Miirlarl – Gumbaynggirr for moon special place) and the local totems.

NADA negotiated a license fee for each artwork selected further encouraging and educating Aboriginal youth about their rights and the importance of their culture.

TAFE NSW

TAFE NSW is the largest provider of education and training in Australia and strives for excellence in education and training across the state. TAFE NSW supports innovation and advancement in technology, as well as arts and culture especially that of Australia’s first nation’s people.
